About “Layman Lessons”
Our sole Mission and Purpose is to be the hands and feet of our God Jehovah of THE Holy Bible, serving HIS unconditional love to Feed the Hungry, Clothe the Naked, Shelter the Homeless, Preach the Gospel (Good News), then for those asking for our help, we Train Disciples. Since 2001 we have done so across the USA in exclusively unique but Biblical ways, as we built national food/clothing/supplies donations and faith based partner distribution networks, open air “Mobile Homeless Church” Street Ministries, Mobile Showers & Laundry, and serve the homeless in hidden homeless camps with personal deliveries of life saving supplies.
We also Preach the Gospel and Train Disciples internationally through our Streaming Videos on our websites, www.LaymanLessons.org and several Religious Education Programs websites.
In the name of God of The Holy Bible, from our Nashville, TN base we procure and provide millions of meals and drinks to feed over 4 million meals annually to the Homeless & Needy in numerous states from our network of food donors, including fresh produce from Jakes Produce network and our exclusive national alliances with Midwest Food Banks, Feed The Children, the 700 Club Operation Blessing, and others. Our faith based partners in numerous states feed and care for their local homeless and truly needy in their local communities with the food, drinks, supplies we procure and provide for their ministries that align with our mission, God’s mission for us.
Layman Lessons…where nobody gets paid to do God’s work since 2001! Somehow God gets this work done with NO PAID STAFF, just people from all types of Churches serving God together OUTSIDE Church walls. Our funding is all from Tithes and Offerings from individuals and partnering Churches of all types, not one dime from any Government or any Religious organization of any type.
Layman Lessons Ministries began in 2000, by Founder, Director, Minister Louie Johnston Jr. of Nashville, TN.
Layman Lessons acquired Welcome Baptist Church/Rescue Mission Inc in Shelby, NC, a Church the IRS approved as a 501c3 on September 11, 2001, with identical mission as Layman Lessons Ministries to form “Layman Lessons Church and Welcome Baptist Church”, registered with the Secretary of State in both NC and TN, operating under the EIN 56-2209129, as a Church serving in North Carolina and Tennessee.
In Tennessee Layman Lessons Church services were established weekly in January, 2001 in downtown Nashville locations, using a Mobile Stage, seating for 150 homeless, a Mobile Clothing Store on a school bus, and feeding a hot banquet meal after the Church service concluded…this all volunteer Layman Lessons Church Ministry Team has served Homeless and Hopeless constantly since 2001. In North Carolina, our Welcome Baptist Church/Rescue Mission also had residential transitional training programs in separate housing for men and women. We combined our operations into the “Layman Lessons Church and Welcome Baptist Church” of today.
“Layman Lessons” began as a series of Christian books by Author Louie E. Johnston Jr., as “Lessons” straight from the Bible for every “Layman”. It grew from 2000 from personal ministry by Author, Founder, Funder, and Director Louie E. Johnston Jr., who has authored 62 books, produced 8 documentaries, all for God & Country.
Louie has over 30 years experience in Lay Ministries serving people with Addictions, Homelessness, and serious Mental Illness, a unique combinations of skills from the Spiritual perspective, but also is a nationally known expert in “best industry practices” in Behavioral Healthcare, then designing and implementing State of the Art computer systems that insured those best practices are followed.
Layman Lessons has 5 priorities for every Christian Layman, to Feed the Hungry, Clothe the Naked, Shelter the Homeless, Preach God’s Word, Train Disciples! Louie invested 3 years in street ministry with Teen Challenge Ministries prior to Founding Layman Lessons Ministries.
His documentary “Operation Compassion,” seen on national television networks, interviews Homelessness on the streets in Nashville, TN.
RELIGIOUS PROGRAMS OF LAYMAN LESSONS CHURCH AND WELCOME BAPTIST CHURCH INC. are www.PatriotPastors.net, www.AmericanConstitutionCenter.org, are among others registered with the Secretary of State of Tennessee as assumed trade names.
